I came across an interesting post over at SavingAdvice.com. It was an article about Ten Things Money Can’t Buy. On that list was happiness.
Of course we’ve heard that old saying: “Money can’t buy happiness.”
But maybe it can.
No, it can’t buy the kind of happiness that comes from inner peace and contentment. But in many cases, money problems are related to stress and strain on relationships. This can be especially true in marriage. Money may not be a cause of unhappiness or happiness (or even of divorce), but the issues associated with it can cause worry.
If you do not have enough money, you are far more likely to worry about it. And things can get tense. It has nothing to do with how much money you have, but rather whether or not you have enough to meet your basic needs. When your basic needs for food, shelter and clothing are not met, it is mighty hard to be happy.
What do you think? Do you think money plays a role in happiness?
