This week is the time to get the jump on the “post Labor Day” frenzy. I’ll keep this short and to the point, so you can get to work:
Make 5 phone calls today to decision makers about projects you have proposed or ideas you have incubated with those who can make the decision. It is a great week to do this, because everyone wants to clear their plates, and if someone isn’t interested, and they are a decision maker, they might give you that “quick no” that you need to move on.
Take out your nice letterhead that you may not use enough – and craft a well-thought out letter to five prospective customers. Choose companies you would like to work with, and let the decision maker you’re writing to know why you’d be a good match for them. Make it easy for them to say yest to a meeting, which would be your next action.
Speaking of next actions, create five emails that take whatever “next action” you’ve set with a prospective or existing client but may have not followed up on, for whatever reason.
In other words, get it done this week.
