April is, of course, the month that Major League Baseball begins, so last week we took a look at new food and retail offerings in several stadiums east of the Mississippi. Today, as promised, we move west to:
Angel Stadium of Anaheim
Home of the Los Angeles Angels
Angels’s fans this year can get fresh squeezed lemonade, Mexican food and country fried chicken. No new retail items are offered.
Home of the Colorado Rockies
The new munchable for the season is a pizza panini, and the new retail offering is a combo pack, which includes both a shirt and a hat.
Home of the Oakland A’s
Two new edibles for A’s fans are veggie chili and a cheese veggie dog. And even though there are no new retail items at the home of the A’s this year, I’ve got to tell you that it might be worth a trip out there just to sample the garlic fries served at McAfee.
Minute Maid Park
Home of the Houston Astros
New menu choices for Astros fans include paninis, wraps and both beef and chicken fajitas on fresh-made tortillas. As if that’s not enough, those lucky fans can get on-site customized name and number jerseys this season. That’s pretty cool.
The 2007 season is well under way. So, let’s play ball, eat and buy something new. That’s what taking me out to the ball game is all about, after all.
