28. Hold a drawing using contact info from your database and give away a special promotion to the winner. (i.e 1 hour consultation, free book or gift card etc.) Again useful free stuff is always a good promotional tool.
29.Be willing to think outside of the box when it comes to promoting your business. Nothing sinks a business faster than a stagnated promotional campaign. For example, I am creating a small business consortium to offer small business owners monthly tips on everything from sales to legal advice. This will allow me to be of service to others while generating buzz about my firm.
30. Partner with another organization to offer their discount coupons to prospects. For example, I have partnered with The San Francisco Business Times (whom I have a subscription with) to offer discount coupons to prospects in my mailing list. The newspaper gets a wider subscription at no real cost to them (except for printing of the coupons) I cover the cost for everything else (postage, envelopes etc) however here´s the kicker. I receive major discounts on a publication which is one of my main sources for mailing lists( I haven´t paid for a subscription in over a year) plus it adds credibility to my services which they will remember because they now get a subscription to something they need. Even if prospects never sign up for my services everyone wins because everyone gets something they want and need.
31 Contact your local City Hall and Chamber of Commerce to see if they will be sponsoring any Small Business Week events. Many people have no idea that San Francisco´s Mayor hosts a HUGE free reception every year for local small business owners. This past year there were over 1500 small business owners invited to this lavish celebration. The chamber and many other organizations had week long events that were golden opportunities to promote and sell services.
32. Start your own networking group. I started Something to Share Business Resource Group because I didn´t find a group that fit my needs. Just because you don´t see a vehicle to promote your services doesn´t mean you can´t create one of your own.
