I left yesterday’s post asking:
How does one do PMB (Pure Management Being)?
To explore this, I asked myself what the equivalent of the red rubber ball would be….
Hint: The ball serves to help us to stop thinking too much.
I Heart Huckabees had a poetry connection, so I have written a poem about how to do PMB.
Pure Management Being
I closed my eyes so I could see
A purpose for my time on the job
To take me beyond the mundane duty
I must pass through and turn the knob
On the secret door of work’s potential
The path to wisdom is narrow and intolerant
Of what ought not be considered or told
To succeed, the extaneous must be absent
For the best choices are real and bold
This focus offers profound possibility
Sensory deprivation is ironically stimulating
Relaxation comes from flexing our truth
Noithing is everything like fasting is feasting
Stillness will enable my work to move
In the direction of my ultimate meaning
What does this all say to the manager
Who only knows the overwhelm and schedule
A smaller path leads to something bigger
And it’s the everyday we must dismantle
To know pure management being
Ok, so perhaps you think I have been playing with the ball too much. If I were to define PMB in specifics it would ruin its potential because PMB is a gateway to the great work you don’t know you are capable of doing.
