I’ve noticed a growing trend of late, selling blogs. We are all aware of the sale of the entire Weblogs Inc network to AOL, but I’m referring to the sale of individual blogs, most of which are consumer-oriented, and which are bringing in some type of revenue.
One example is Mobility Watch, a blog focused on wireless & mobile technology – such as cell phones, wireless broadband, PDAs, and related topics. The site has only been live since April of this year and brings in a reported $300+ each month, most of which gets paid to bloggers writing for the site.
The site is owned by Blog Media, a network of about one dozen business and consumer blogs.
This portends an exit strategy for those developing blog networks…build them, get traffic to them, then sell them. And just in case you’ve got a little money to invest, you can purchase Mobility Watch for a mere $5,000.
