Ten years ago, chances are you never heard about blogging; now they are all the rage. I have links to friends who have blogs set up to share pictures of their families, to tell stories about their families, and also blogs that are there for marketing and advertising purposes. If you are a business owner and you have a web site, you may want to consider this new trend in marketing.
First, it’s free. Just do a search for free blogs and you’ll find places that can host your blog. Also, you may have a free blog with your web hosting plan, so check there as well.
Secondly, you can rack up the SEO keywords in just one post. If you sell t-shirts, just think of how often you can mention t-shirts in one blog article.
Thirdly, you can encourage customer feedback. Some of the stuff you may not want to hear, but it will be brutally honest and, isn’t that the best way to make your products or services better?
Finally, you can share links with others. The more links you share, the more people the blog will be exposed to.
If you haven’t yet started a business blog, do a quick search for blogs related to your business area and then see what pops up. Read a few of these, and a few from other business areas, to get a feel for the type of writing styles and information that is out there. And then, join the rest of them and start blogging!
