One of the most overlooked tactics for driving traffic to your blog
is the information we cover in the second module of our 4-point Better
Business Blogging teleseminar series: Outreach.
If you’re not reading and commenting on other blogs in your field,
you’re missing out. It’s one of the most powerful ways to get known,
get visitors, and get inbound links to your blog.
Many professionals are so focused on what they have to say, they
forget blogs are a conversation and way to interact with people. But if
you’re not getting enough visitors, you’re not going to get comments,
and you mavy feel like you’re writing to a void.
You must start the ball rolling by finding and subscribing to other
blogs in your field. Here are three ways to find other blogs:
1. Technorati: set up a Watchlist at http://www.technorati.com
2. Google: http://blogsearch.google.com/
3. The Blog Catalog: http://www.blogcatalog.com
There are many other resources to find blogs, but the important
thing is to spend time finding blogs you like, subscribe to them and
become a frequent commenter. You’ll find that by leaving meaningful
comments on other blogs, readers and blog authors will become curious
about you and your blog.
We’ll be covering this and other elements of our 4-point Better
Blogging System in February. The system includes learning about
Content, Outreach, Design and Action. See the link below for more
information and registration.
