Australia’s sales coach, Wayne Brady, notes Bill Gates 3 Keys to Success. It’s hard to disagree with Bill, and Wayne has made some great comments about each point, so be sure to visit his link.
I met Bill Gates a couple of times over the years – not so hard when you grew up in the Seattle area – up until the early ’90s, Bill was known to frequent classic burger haunts such as Dick’s Drive-In, and Burgermaster.
The first time I met Bill Gates was when he was speaking to the Macintosh Business Users Group I co-founded (‘way back in ’84). Bill’s visit to our group, dBUG, was probably in the late ’80s – when Microsoft was rolling out something beyond Multiplan that ran on the Mac. The great thing about meeting BG wasn’t about me – it was about my son, Leon – who was 8 or 9 at the time.
Leon is a 5th year professional hockey player with college degree in his back pocket. Knowing that he met one of the smartest business people on earth, not to mention the wealthiest, at such a young age, just goes toward more confidence. I’ve heard him in a conversation or two over the years simply mention when someone speaks of Bill Gates…. “yea, I met him when I was young”.
Back to Bill Gates 3 keys to success. Most people know that I like threes. Here they are:
2. Being at the right place at the right time
3. Taking massive immediate action
These are great. Read what Wayne writes, and think of how this fits in your business.
