Thinking of relocating? The website Relocate-America (TM) ranks the best places to live each year as determined by the people who actually live in those cities.
I haven’t looked yet at the list of cities that ranked in the top ten. I already know that LA will not be on it. We have too much traffic, too much smog, and the cost of living is way too high for the average family. I always wonder how people make it in this city. We do, but as you know I’m quite thrifty, and we are renting a house. (Yes, readers, we passed on the fixer that needed a new drainage system, and we are actually filled with relief, so I guess that was a good choice).
I’m back, and I’ve taken a peek at the list. Charlotte topped number one this year. I love Charlotte, and so do the people who live there. In fact, this is year number two that a North Carolina city got top honors. Last year Asheville was ranked as the number one city, and I agree: This city is beautiful. Had it not been for a long waiting list, I would have gone to college in nearby Boone. Clean, fresh air, nice hometown feel and real estate is still not totally out of control as it is here in Los Angeles land.
Crime rate, cost of living, and the environment all play a part in the rankings. You can view the listing of cities that made the top ten here.
