Are you thinking about starting a business? Wondering if your location has the criteria that you hope to find in a good business location?
Allbusiness recently conducted a national survey to find out the top cities for women entrepreneurs. During the study they looked at what women value the most when they start a business and then compared this data to government data. The cities making the top of each list are those with the best mix of criteria for women. Some of this criteria included crime, property tax rate, and high household income.
Overall, Raleigh-Cary NC was the top metropolitan area for women entrepreneurs. Also topping that list were four Utah cities, ranking second through fifth. Among medium sized cities, Utah again took the top, this time ranking first with Provo-Orem and second with Ogden-Clearfield. For small metro areas with a population of less than 175,000 the top three cities were St George, Utah; Logan, Utah; and Morgantown, WV.
