Remember when Yahoo was just launching? The buzz about the new site was hot on the west coast but not many people paid much attention to it in the heartland or east coast.
When Google launched, the buzz was sizzling – after their VC money kicked in. Before that they were a site that launched and grew in spurts.
Last week I was in an interview with a job applicant and she was bragging about how she was the 93,378 registered user on a certain site. She had just snuck in under the wire before the counter clicked to six digits. Something to be proud of in the world of Internet ranking. In today’s world of Internet placement, publicity, hits, clicks, views, and reads, – a world I might add that is very different from the one anyone over 38 grew up in and one that many restaurant owners are not familiar with, site content is as important as ketchup on fries, mustard on hot dogs or ice to a chilled martini.
Content is king on the Internet. Earlier this eek I offered the Internet review night idea and since then had great response to that thought. I’d now like to offer this advice.
Tonight, go to your computer and look at foodio54.com. I touched on this site on Monday and since then have spent some time on it surfing, reviewing and getting a feel for what the owners have set out to do. It is a review site for restaurants. And, restaurant owners can post on the site. It’s free. And, it will sizzle in a short amount of time.
The site has a personality of its own. It as the web 2.0 functionality and the community that t is attempting to build will follow. Get your restaurant on there now. It will eventually be something you wish you had done.
And just think, eventually you can brag about being one of the first at the top of the ranking list.
