Many salespeople I have known over the years had a sort of “lone wolf” attitude – you know the one, the, “if it is to be, it is up to me” sort of strategy. I was like that too.
Smart marketers and sales pros know NOW that you can’t do anything big on your own. Many (myself included) have learned also that it does not take anything away from you to collaborate with someone else – not if it is done right. It actually makes you BIGGER (most often) than if you were struggling on your own. There are a few exceptions – but generally speaking this is the case.
So,to do this – you need to be OPEN to new collaboration. I had the pleasure of being at the Biznik SHINE event last night – talk about a room FULL of hundreds of small biz owners and future collaborators. It was mind boggling.
Some people decided not to show up – and legitimately some had very good reasons – personal reasons – not to. But others just didn’t see the value, or were hesitant to participate. Fear of the unknown can paralyze you!
Get out there and be OPEN to new ideas – new ways of thinking – and you may be surprised at what comes your way.
