Basecamp is fast becoming my favorite online application.
For some time now, I’ve been using Basecamp with one of my clients, first during their website development with Hop Studios, and now to manage and track all their marketing and promotion projects.
Recently, my partner and I started using Basecamp to manage our projects. As our business has grown, it seems we have so many products and services we’re developing that we were losing track of to-dos and needed a better way than sending emails and IMs back and forth.
We are using the system to track all the tasks we do for clients, to track our project development, set up milestones for completion of tasks and projects, to easily share files, and to write our sales copy and proposals using their writeboard feature. The writeboard feature has saved us a ton of time as we post content on the board and either one of us can edit it at any time and/or comment on the document. Every version is saved so you can compare versions to see what’s been added or edited out. I’m loving it.
Basecamp is free to use for one project, $12.95 for 3 projects and up from there. There is no contract and you can upgrade or downgrade or cancel your account at any time. You can also invite people to participate in specific projects, i.e., we can open a project up to a client as we work on their marketing strategies or blog tasks. They will only have access to their project.
If you work with partners and clients, I recommend you look into this web-based application for managing your projects. As "they" say, it’s a killer app!
