Last week I wrote a post about the joys of personal finance software. (Read it here.) It occurred to me that I left out one of the most important details: back up your information.
Most personal finance software allows you to back up all your information to disk. You will probably have to use a CD or a flash stick, because the floppy just doesn’t have enough space. Backing up your information is very important because, it you are like me, the old check book register has been in the trash bin for years. Redundancy is one of the first rules of computers: backup anything you want to save.
It only takes a few seconds, and if your computer should crash you will be able to recover your financial tracking software very easily, with minimal hassle.
