For the savvy solo professional marketing their products and services on the Internet, it’s important to build a list of qualified prospects. I know you’ve heard this before. Every Internet marketing guru talks about this. And, it’s true. But how to do this?
One way to build a list of qualified leads is to create an assessment or survey. Offer something of value to the person in exchange for the information they provide. An assessment can be powerful if you are scoring the information provided and give the person some guidance in return so they learn more about themselves.
My partner and I have recently begun using AssessmentGenerator.com which is a pretty simple system for setting up a self scoring assessment and then giving you the ability to send follow up emails to the prospects.
Today, we launched an assessment for professionals who are trying to decide whether a blog is the right tool to add to their marketing toolbox. You can check it out and see how the system work. The assessment is called Are You Ready to Add a Blog to Your Marketing Mix? and we give participants access to a 60 minute audio program about blogging.
I’d be interested in hearing other’s opinions and experiences about using assessments. Have they worked for you to attract new clients?
