Communicating effectively when you’re in the room is important, but the “leave behind” that bridges to the next step is just as vital.Business cards are perhaps the best leave-behind material in the business world. People know what they are, they’re highly portable, they’re inexpensive to create, and almost no one turns them down.
And here’s the most important reason to carry business cards with you: when you hand someone yours, it gives you a chance to ask for theirs. It’s the business equivalent of “I’ll show you mine, if you show me yours.”
