Feeling the twinge of inaction at a company I’m working for, I was offered the book, Unstuck as inspiration for getting us off the plateau and moving upward again.
The book was written by Keith Yamashita and Sandra Spataro. He’s an Organizational Behavior guy and she’s a Ph.D. in Organizational Behavior and teaches at Yale School of Management. Together they own a consulting company as well.
Unstuck basically asks you to self-evaluate your business and then choose one or more stuck categories your company is in. It then offers suggestions and case studies to show you how to get unstuck.
The book was a simple read, and not full of the research-laden prose of many business books.
THE REAL WORLD RETAILING TAKEAWAY
Getting unstuck is as simple as reading a book.
The book is a great read for any small business owner looking for insight and suggestions on how to move forward.
You can get a taste of Unstuck at the Unstuck website. It’ll give you an overview of how to diagnose and treat your “stuckness.”
I think the key to any business book is to look for the things you can take away and apply to your business. The same applies to people you meet which I wrote about last week.
Unstuck gives you a multitude of things to take away and apply to your business.
So get reading to get unstuck.
