By sitting in a coffee house in Vancouver BC I am in unfamiliar surroundings. The coffee is familiar, I must say – but not the people, or anything else around me. In fact, I am about to meet 70 people I’ve never met before – only one that I have ever spoken to.
Because it is good to get out of my comfort zone. I suspect it is good for you to, too.
We refer to the definition of insanity as “doing the same thing over and over and getting the same results”. It is no different in business.
So, consider stepping out. Not a huge, drastic, 180 degree shift – I am talking about making 1% changes that will all add up for you over time.
Think for a minute about the great opportunities that have happened for you when you stepped out of your normal grind and met new people. Many of us met our mates this way, and a lot of us have met new business partners, prospective customers, and clients.
What have you got to lose? Think ahead, about what it is that you are looking for – sales, business growth, collaborators, or something else. Then target where you go – and try some place new. Sounds simple, yet most people don’t do it.
Because it is easier to be comfortable getting nowhere than to be uncomfortable and grow.
Which is it for you?
You never know where your next great customer relationship or business partner relationship is until you reach out and meet them.
