Assuming an equal number of people visiting my business – a visitor being one that frequents my store, offices, or Internet presence (not all visits result in a purchase and not all visitors become paying customers) – I’d choose more visits per person than more visitors.
For example, let’s say there are 20,000 people visiting my business a month. I’d prefer those visits be made by 5,000 people than by 10,000 people. Those that chose to visit me 4 times a month are better connected to my business than those that visited twice.
There are trade-offs to be sure, but all things being equal, I’d prefer the better connected customer-base. I’d rather fight the problem of getting breadth in a market than building something worth visiting twice as often.
What do you think? If all things were equal, would you prefer more visits to your business per person or more people visiting less often? Why?
