The Salesforce Blog reports that 40% of web traffic to Salesforce.com’s servers is directed at the Salesforce API. So, for you non-technical folks, this means that 40% of Salesforce’s traffic is coming not from people using Salesforce in a browser, but other computer programs tapping into Salesforce’s functionality over the internet (to eventually be presented to users in some sort of custom application). This is really amazing statistic. A world of web-services really is upon us.
