If you’re like me and still read a newspaper, you’re probably as tired as I am of seeing the wording in headlines: cut, decline, drop, falling, loss and weak all jump out at me. So I smiled when I read Terri Lonier’s Working Solo Minute this week. Her post is called “Who’s Wallowing“, and I agree with her 100%. Make a list of what’s going right and keep it where you see it every day. She’s talking to solo entrepreneurs, but it applies to all of us small business owners. We need to keep our chins up and focus on the positive. Yes, there may be less of it than last year and certainly less than we’d like. But our outlook will affect our output, so we need to stay upbeat.
There’s an old Frank Sinatra song that goes, “Accentuate the positive. Eliminate the negative. Latch onto the affirmative. Don’t mess with Mr. In-Between.” If you can find the tune, hum a few bars of it to yourself each morning!
