Anna’s Linens has been on the retail scene since 1988, and its stores stretch far and wide across the country — nearly 250 stores in 21 states. Still, I had not paid any attention to it until recently, when I seem to see an Anna’s ad every time I turn on the television.
The store’s motto is “Sell steak cheap, not cheap steak.” And, while Anna’s sells household goods – not beef – it seems to be plenty beefy when it comes, first, to value. Its merchandise is notably affordable, as Anna’s ads very effectively point out — over and over again.
Browsing the Anna’s site, I noticed something that caught my eye. There, visible at the bottom of the home page, right alongside “About Us,” “Terms & Conditions,” “Shipping Information,” and the like, is a tab for “Military Discounts.”
Click on it to discover that Anna’s offers 10-percent discounts to military personnel. No conditions. No time limit.
Curious, I checked several other retail sites and found no others offering such a discount. Now, maybe they are and perhaps they don’t make it as obvious as Anna’s does. Or maybe my research is lacking.
