Leanne, our busy mother of two sons who commuted one hour each way, worked as a Senior Account Executive – until this month.(Refresh yourself on Leanne here.)
Sadly, Leanne has lost her job. She is just one of many parents facing unemployment in the face of an unstable job market. Though the unemployment rate held at 9.7% in March, Leanne has become a sad statistic of those who are being let go of their jobs. With two children to support, what is a mother to do? Families must make sacrifices at times like these – what will Leanne’s be?
I have asked Leanne to remain with us over this coming year. I feel that situations like this are all too common in the lives of readers. We are feeling pressure still when it comes to keeping a job or moving back into the workforce if we’ve been out for a while. Layoffs, cut backs, furloughs and other job cuts are affecting our families.
Leanne will continue to blog after taking a bit of time to grieve. It is my hope that as we find professionals to offer Leanne advice about getting back out there we can also help our other readers who are facing the same situation.
In the meantime, send Leanne your good thoughts, and if you have faced a similar situation in the recent past and would like to offer her some advice feel free to leave a comment on this blog post.
Leanne, I personally wish you the very best and am glad we will continue to follow your life as you mourn the loss of this job and the celebration of a new one.
