I was driving to a meeting last week and I saw a perfect example of a wasted advertising effort.
As I pulled up to a red light I looked at the truck in the lane next to me. It had a mural of some sort painted on it. “Now that’s eye-catching” I thought to myself. What a great way to get people’s attention. So, I looked to see what company name was on the truck.
But there was none. All I could see was their corporate slogan. I couldn’t see any name or logo to identify what company owned the truck.
As we pulled away from the intersection, I drove around and finally saw a company name and logo up near the front.
What a waste! They go to all this trouble to make their vehicle stand out and then they make it difficult to see the company name and logo.
If you’re going to use a vehicle to promote your business, put your name and logo on every side so everyone can see it. Why waste the effort of getting people to look and then not tell them who you are?
Also, if your company is not a name-brand company then include an easy to remember website with your logo. Forget the phone number because people can’t write it down while driving but they might remember your web address.
