It’s about time.
That’s the first thing we thought when we heard about WonderPizza USA and its pizza vending machine.
The second thing: why doesn’t AllBusiness have one?
We’re getting fed up with “lunch” meetings over a can of Dinty Moore beef stew.
WonderPizza USA was founded in 2002 by Paul Battaini and Jerry Rogers, who secured the rights to the U.S. business from WonderPizza Italy. The $18,000 vending machines produce 9-inch pizzas in 2 minutes. They’re cooked in an infrared oven (not a microwave) and delivered hot on a cardboard tray. Suggested retail price is $5-$6.
The New Bedord, Mass.-based business is proving popular. It recently got funding from a former Domino’s senior exec and is now offering franchise opportunities.
We’re considering a franchise in the region of our kitchen. Laugh if you like. But listen to this report from Reuters Rome:
“In negation of habitually accepted sense common medical that it indicates that the food that one really enjoys tends to be bad for the health, investigators of the Farmacol?gico Institute of Milan discovered that to eat one or pizzas per week more reduces drastically the incidence of some types of cancer.”
Couldn’t have said it better ourselves.
