About 27 years ago a good friend of mine was in AA (Alcoholics Anonomous) and we shared a house. My son was a year old at the time. It was an eye opening experience to meet recovering alcoholics, addicts, and the stories I heard blew me away many times. I met some very courageous folks and learned a lot.
That’s where I learned what a “geographical cure” was – when someone moves away hoping that it will change their lifestyle – but unfortunately we, who are the problem, unless we change, are the same no matter where we go. This strategy certainly is a popular one for many of us though.
Anyway, all that to say that I am trying a geographical cure for the next eight days – on beautiful Whidbey Island. I’ll write more about Whidbey in future posts – it will be a great place to hide out and write, write, write. Oh, and I’ll organize my harddrive too. I just completed a huge project and look forward to a change of pace and some re-creation.
While I’m here, I welcome your comments to post on what YOU do to recreate, create, and re-create? What gives you a new prespective or a new way of seeing a sales challenge? Please post your thoughts….. it will help someone else.
