Babies are a bundle of joy, right?
More like a bundle of stress and anxiety.
Just ask any new parent. They’re faced with overwhelming responsibility. Like feeding their newborn, keeping it safe, and most important of all, buying baby gear that will make their play group weep with envy.
The pressure is enough to turn any formally well-adjusted person into a Xanax junkie. (In case you’re wondering, any internet “pharmacy” will happily take your order.)
Good thing there’s Nursery Know-It-All, a baby concierge service that helps distraught parents sort through all of the baby stuff out there.
“For example, one could spend hours researching about strollers,” explains founder Kimberly Shore Levin. Or, for a small fee, they could hire Levin do it for them. After all, with three kids of her own born over the last three and half years, she’s something of an expert.
Levin was so good at buying baby junk for her little ones, all her friends started turning to her for advice and assistance. That’s when she figured out she could charge for her services — and use the proceeds to get the bill collectors off her back. (OK, that’s not true, but we’re probably close.)
Clients can hire Nursery Know-It-All by the hour or purchase packages for a variety of services, including nursery set-up, lining up post-partum care, and finding a pediatrician. So far, the company caters to parents in the Washington, DC area.
Personally, we can’t wait to see what happens to Nursery Know-It-All once Levin’s children get a little older. If she plays her cards right, she could one day be the proud owner of a new service called How to Get Your 30-Year-Old Slacker Out of the House Know-It-All.
