I’ve been thinking about doing the same thing, but focusing it strictly on small business blogs. Here’s what I’d like to do. If you are a small businessowner who uses a blog relative to your business for marketing purposes or otherwise and would like to be included in this effort, I’d like you to email me with the name of your blog along with some reasons why you think you’d be a good candidate for inclusion.
There are some salient benefits to you for doing so. First, you’ll get search engine benefit as this would provide another link back to your site. Second, you’ll gain readership out of it. This blog, along with the other Allbusiness.com blogs, get a healthy dose of readers each month. It’s likely readers to this blog will click through to yours.
Like I said, this is an ambitious project. Even if I don’t get 52 I’ll do 30 blogs in 30 weeks, or whatever number I can accrue.
I have to admit there is a selfish reason for asking you to do this. I want to prove to the business blogging community that small businesspeople are making use of this media format and use your blogs as a rationale for why others should. Much is being written about how large corporations can use blogs and, frankly, I’m sick of it. I believe small businesses can make the best use of blogs possible and I want to build a case to prove it.
One more thing, if you’re a blog consultant and you have some good small business blogs you’d like to showcase, I’m certainly open to your sending me a list.
Finally, help me promote this venture, would you? Let’s “make some hay” with this.
