If you run a restaurant or retail store, don’t overlook the classic marketing
mainstays, like the VIP FaxBlast.
Along with your fishbowl drawing, ask those dropping in business cards for
permission to fax special offers to them (very important. Never send faxes
without documented approval on file)
Build a list of fax numbers of local businesses and load them into your fax
machine’s number database (most decent fax machines have one). When your sales
are down for a given week, or if you are rolling out a new product, print out a
Daily Manager’s Special or VIP Offer and send out a fax blast.
Be sure to include verbiage indicating they have given permission to fax
them, and include instructions for having themselves removed. Promote pick-up
items, quick-lunch specials, communal items for back at the office (donuts,
buckets of wings, pizza) or after-work specials, such as “Bring this fax for a
free appetizer for your group.” Make it a truly generous offer and date
