Here’s some good news for Texas. The Sherbino Wind Farm ,in Pecos County, is back in business with a $280 million investment. The money comes from a joint venture between BP Alternative Energy North America and NRG Energy. When fully operational, the wind farm will have 50 Vestas V-90 wind turbine generators, creating enough energy to power 225,000 homes.
This is BP’s second foray into Texas wind. They’re also working with Clipper Windpower at the Silver Star 1 Wind Farm, in Dallas. The Silver Star’s wind power is expected to be available to consumers this summer.
