At presstime, Barry Callebaut and the Van Leer Corporation, Jersey City, New Jersey, are discussing a potential acquisition of Van Leer by Barry Callebaut. 'We are discussing with Van Leer,' reports Pierre Petit, vice president, Barry Callebaut, North America. 'We have not reached an agreement. I'm hoping to reach an agreement soon,' he says. Barry Callebaut is owned by Klaus J. Jacobs Holding AG, based in Zurich, Switzerland.
