Bosch Packaging Technology Team Will Make Big Stand at Interpack
The first joint appearance in Europe of the newly formed Bosch Packaging Technology group will take place during the Interpack Exhibition in Dusseldorf, Germany, April 21-27.
Bosch Packaging Technology and the former SIG Pack Division, which merged last July 1, have already teamed up at a major show. "We exhibited together in November at Pack Expo in Chicago, where our equipment and integrated packaging systems were on display," said Bert Jan Hardenbol, general director of the Robert Bosch Verpakkingsmachines BV unit in Holland.
The union between Bosch and Sigpack created an organization employing 4,200 people with combined annual sales of 600 million euros.
Friedbert Klefenz, president of Bosch Packaging Technology, stated: "The acquisition of Sigpack is strategic, enabling us to round out our offerings ... Our expertise as a worldwide system supplier over the entire value-added chain has been significantly enhanced. In the future, our business partners will be able to obtain all of their line components from a single source, and 'one-stop-shopping' in the packaging sector will be a reality."
Bosch is well known in the frozen food industry for its vertical form, fill and seal machines. Doboy, which specializes in automatic wrapping and handling machines, is among Sigpack's high-profile brand names.
