Williams named executive director. (People).

The Idaho Consumer-Owned Utilities Association (ICUA) has named Ron Williams as its executive director, ICUA President Werner Buehler announced.

Williams is a Boise attorney who specializes in electricity and telecommunications, as well as small and emerging growth businesses, and

"We are fortunate to have found someone with Ron's knowledge and experience within the electric utility industry to serve as our first ever executive director," said Buehler, general manager at Salmon River Electric. "The legal and policy issues facing Idaho electric cooperative and municipalities continue to be complex, involving millions of dollars and affecting hundreds of thousands of Idaho customers. Ron will be an important asset to the ICUA as we work through these challenges."

Williams will serve in a part-time capacity as the executive director and will continue his law practice. As executive director, Williams will represent ICUA's interest before state and federal elected officials and regulatory agencies, as well as Bonneville Power Administration.
