Ron Simon, CHA, has been named general manager of the Doubletree Hotel Crystal City in Arlington, Va.

Simon most recently served as general manager of the Doubletree Guest Suites Waltham, Mass., a position held since 1998. He reports to Ben Fusco, area vice president, Mid-Atlantic region.

A 24-year hospitality veteran, Simon's career began in 1977 as a front desk clerk at the Tropicana Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. He joined the Doubletree brand in 1988 as general manager of the Doubletree at Orlando Airport in Orlando, Fla. He has held the same position at several Doubletree properties, including the Doubletree Guest Suites Tampa Bay and Tampa Westshore in Florida and the Doubletree Guest Suites in Cambridge, Mass.

Simon received a bachelor of science degree in hotel administration from the University of Nevada at Las Vegas (UNLV).

Simon is active as an industry and community leader. His past credentials include president of the Hillsborough County Hotel/Motel Association and board member of the Florida Hotel/Motel Association and the Massachusetts Lodging Association.
