International Design Team Creates Dramatic Beachfront Residences for Vacation Homebuyers
BAJA CALIFORNIA, Mexico -- Real Estate Development International (REDI), the Mexican operating entity of an international real estate development firm focused on residential projects in Mexico, today announced
Currently under construction along the scenic coast just eight miles south of the U.S. border between Tijuana and Rosarito and a quarter of a mile from Trump's Ocean Resort, Terra Sur's first phase is comprised of seven single-family detached homes designed by some of the border region's most acclaimed architects. These include notable San Diego-based firms Rob Wellington Quigley, Spurlock-Poirier Landscape Architects, Safdie Rabines Architects, Ocean Pacific Design and Studio E Architects as well as Baja-based REDI Design.
In addition to the initial phase of luxury custom-like homes - which average 3,500 square feet - the seven acre Terra Sur development will include three future phases of 112 upscale villas and condos, a resort-caliber spa and fitness facility, high-end restaurant with full-service bar, and other top-notch amenities. All living and leisure facilities will hug the rugged coastline and offer panoramic ocean views and easy access to cliffs, coves and private beaches.
According to the project's developer and lead architect, Guillermo Martinez de Castro, or "Mannix" as he is known in design and development circles, Terra Sur is among the most prestigious of its kind ever built along the northern Baja California peninsula, and is quickly becoming a symbol for what some consider the wave of the future in bi-national design-build development.
"Our world-class design team represents the best of both sides of the border, creating an elegant enclave of extraordinary vacation homes in this exclusive and beautiful setting," says Mannix.
The premiere phase of Terra Sur features cliff-side single-family residences arranged to protect the natural character of the land and allow the homes to be positioned for capturing desired views, without sacrificing lifestyle or privacy.
The challenge for each of the project's five architectural firms is to create thoughtful and efficient floor plans that exude unique personality and cultural authenticity. More important, notes Mannix, each home must work with the coastal landscape, integrating the home and its natural materials with the site, to retain a natural environment that is both respectable to Baja's rich heritage and also provides an aesthetically pleasing and contemporary sense of place.
