Phase one of the four phased project has provided Tesco with the ability to track costs and performance service levels, book orders with carriers, and to provide initial stages of financial settlement. In addition, both the demand from the Tesco order management system and status from their warehouse management system are integrated with the G-Log solution. Inbound freight from key suppliers is being planned and executed with multiple carriers on critical routes.
"The speed of the implementation has exceeded our expectations for phase one," said Mark Champagne, distribution development director, Tesco. By experiencing results in the short-term, we fully expect this partnership to be a key element in achieving our long-term strategy. On the basis of eliminating waste in the shipment process alone, we anticipate meeting our business objectives within the next 18-24 months," added Champagne.
With this phase of the implementation complete, Tesco has taken the initial step in achieving a new business model with increased functionality offering improved methodology with minimal staffing. The cost tracking capabilities enable better management of resources, decreased expenses and increased customer service.
"G-Log is designed to accommodate very rapid, phased deployment schedules. Our solution was implemented to meet Tesco's immediate needs," said Mitch Weseley, CEO and president of G-Log. "With the hype that exists in the software industry, G-Log is leading technology companies today by providing real solutions and delivering on its promise of rapid implementation and immediate ROI. Our strategy has been to provide customer satisfaction by demonstrating the value of the G-Log solution as quickly as possible and then expanding our solution to address their global needs," added Weseley.
