Hearing on road project 'useful' for public in Wetumpka, Ala.

Jan. 14--WETUMPKA, Ala. -- The Alabama Department of Transportation held a public hearing Thursday to let Wetumpka residents voice their concerns about one of the city's highest traffic areas.

In 2003, the traffic count for the intersection of River Oaks Boulevard and U.S. 231 was 41,770 cars per day. A $1.8 million project includes putting in a traffic light on River Oaks Boulevard and two turning lanes on U.S. 231.
