Customer Connection at Various BART Stations.

OAKLAND, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 26, 1996--On Wednesday, March 27, BART will hold special "Customer Connections" as part of an extensive outreach program to provide information on BART's upcoming fare increase.

BART staff will be on hand to distribute written information and answer

questions related to the fare increase at the following stations: -0-

              Station                   Time

              Powell Street       12 noon to 2 p.m.
              Colma                7 a.m. to 9 a.m.-0-

The fare increase, which goes into effect on April 1, is the second of three successive increases necessary to pay for badly needed renovation of BART's original fleet of train cars, as well as trackway, station escalators, change and ticket machines, lights and other system improvements.

The increase will also help fund operating costs for the new extensions and provide paratransit service and many other improved services for the elderly and persons with disabilities as required by the American With Disabilities Act (ADA).
