Japan's Railway Technical Research Institute (RTRI) is developing a new multi-media IT concept called CyberRail, which it says will provide information for passengers throughout their journey from door-to-door, taking into account every mode of transport.
THE CyberRail project being undertaken by RTRI is an ambitious attempt to marry all forms of communication into an integrated entity which will provide passengers with a seamless source of real-time information before and during the course of their journey. It is expected to become reality within 10 years.
