NIDA Launches Campaign Against Prescription Drug Abuse.

The National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA), alarmed by signs of increases in abuse, is launching a campaign to make the public and medical community aware of the dangers of prescription drug misuse and to encourage more research on the subject.

The issue of prescription drug abuse is increasingly being spotlighted in the workplace setting. For example, the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has urged that federal regulators consider testing safety-sensitive personnel for legal as well as illegal drugs. This recommendation came after an NTSB investigation revea
