Bosch Reports Automotive Sales Growth in 2000.
Robert Bosch Corp.'s, North American total automotive sales rose in 2000, from $4.2 billion to $4.4 billion, the company said. Overall, Bosch reported that North American total sales, including automotive and non-automotive operations, rose from $5.9 billion in 1999 to $6.2 billion last year. Bosch's 2000 net sales figures include joint venture operations in North America. Robert Bosch Corp.'s automotive OEM operations consist of 19 technical and manufacturing facilities in North America.
The Bosch Group said its total automotive sales in 2000 increased to $20.55 billion. Growth in this area is mainly attributed to the increasing importance of diesel injection systems in the company's automotive sector. Worldwide, automotive and non-automotive sales for the Bosch Group were approximately $28.8 billion, the company reported. Employment at Bosch rose by approximately 5,000 worldwide, from 195,000 at the beginning of 2000 to approximately 200,000 at the beginning of 2001, the company said.
