New York Gov. George Pataki said that New York City Transit will purchase 190 natural gas-fueled buses from Orion Bus Industries, Inc. In a related announcement, Structural Composites Industry (SCI) has signed a $3 million contract for CNG vehicle fuel tanks with Orion Bus Industries of New

York and Canada. Under the agreement, SCI will supply about 2000 of its standard tanks manufactured with a full glass fiber overwrap of a 6061-T6 aluminum liner. The CNG cylinders will be installed in Orion V model transit buses used by New York City.
