Toyota Prius Ranked Top Compact Car in J.D. Power IQS.

J.D. Power and Associates recently announced the release of its 2005 Initial Quality Study (IQS) of new vehicles, a model-level study that measures 135 attributes across nine categories, including ride/handling/braking, engine and transmission, and a range of quality problems symptoms reported

by vehicle owners.

According to J.D. Power, Toyota Motor Corporation earned 10 of the study's top model segment awards, with the automaker's hybrid electric Prius recognized as the top compact car.

J.D. Power noted that the 2005 IQS is based on responses from more than 62,000 purchasers and lessees of new 2005 model-year cars and trucks, who were surveyed after 90 days of ownership.
