TCEQ Purchases New Hybrid Chevrolet Silverado Pickup Truck.

The Texas Commission of Environmental Quality (TCEQ) recently announced the purchase of a new hybrid electric Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck, to be stationed at the Dallas/Fort Worth regional office.

According to TCEQ, the hybrid pickup truck will replace a traditional gasoline-powered

pickup currently operating as part of the commission's fleet. TCEQ said the hybrid Silverado will be used to conduct inspections at industrial facilities, landfills, power plants, public water supply sites, wastewater plants, dairies and other regulated entities, as well as to inspect and operate air monitoring stations in the region.

TCEQ noted that it plans to purchase additional hybrid Silverados during the next fiscal year, as well as other hybrid electric vehicles for use by Texas state agencies.
