Liaoning Huajin Chemical (Group) Corporation (Liaoning Huajin) has selected Basell's Spheripol technology for a new 250 000 t/a polypropylene plant it plans to build in Panjin, Liaoning province of northeastern China. Start-up is expected in 2009.

The Spheripol process offers licenses, an elegant and economical method of producing a wide range of polypropylene products. Through the refinement of bulk liquid and gas-phase polymerization reactors this technology includes features that reduce both resource consumption and emissions from process.
