Aug. 18--The British government wants to introduce passenger profiling at UK airports, which would allow suspicious passengers to be removed from check-in queues and subjected to detailed interrogation.

It is considering profiling them by passport but is concerned that this would be regarded as discriminatory.

Profiling is one of a raft of new measures to be introduced at airports in the next five years as a result of the 11 September attacks.
