Chairman of Leading Low-Fare Airline Says Customer

Demand, Strong Markets Behind Added Service

Low-fare specialist Spirit Airlines, the largest privately-held airline in

the United States, announced today it is doubling its flights serving New York's LaGuardia International Airport to and from popular destinations across Florida as well as Detroit and Los Angeles, effective September 5.

Spirit's expansion at LaGuardia begins as the airline celebrates its 10th anniversary.

The six new roundtrip flights include inaugural flights to Fort Myers, Orlando (two daily), Tampa and West Palm Beach and one-stop service to Los Angeles. Spirit continues to offer five daily roundtrips between LaGuardia and Detroit, Fort Lauderdale (two daily), Melbourne and Myrtle Beach, S.C.

"LaGuardia has proven to be one of our most popular airports since we began serving New York area passengers in November 1998," said Ned Homfeld, Spirit's chairman. "Our passengers have been asking for more service from LaGuardia to popular leisure destinations and we're delivering."

"We're sure our new LaGuardia service will quickly prove popular with residents of the five boroughs, Long Island and the nearby northern New York state counties," Homfeld added. "New Yorkers looking to escape to the south for warmer weather as winter approaches will find our added flights affordable, convenient and friendly."
