Spirit Airlines has taken measures to secure its cockpit doors and increase safety procedures to ensure the safety of its passengers and crewmembers.
Spirit Airlines engineering and maintenance staff has custom designed and is installing Spirit's, FAA certified, cockpit-reinforcing devices and locking systems. Spirit began installation procedures last week for several of its planes out of the fleet of 29 aircraft and expects to complete the process by early November.
