AIRLINE INDUSTRY INFORMATION-(C)1997-2008 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD

Cayman Airways, the national carrier of the Cayman Islands, has appointed Gilles Filiatreault as its acting chief executive officer.

This appointment follows the resignation of the current CEO, Patrick Strasburger.

At the same time Olson Anderson, Cayman Airways' vice president of flight operations, has been named as the airline's CEO designate. He will understudy Filiatreault to better prepare him to take on the top job, the company said.

Anderson and Filiatreault will assume their new roles on 22 September 2008 with the departure of Patrick Strasburger.

Filiatreault most recently served as CEO of TACV in the Cape Verde Islands. He has also worked with Air Canada and has held senior posts with Caribbean airlines, Cayman Airways said.
